Short Bio

I am a representational painter focused on figurative and portrait art. I work on commissioned work that centers around portraits and figurative work and also create work for galleries.

Statement

I love to draw from life. When you work with a live model you build a connection hopefully become friends through the process you really get to know each other and talk about life. When you spend hours drawing that person the drawing becomes a time-lapse, moments captured that you have spent with them. The drawing constantly evolves, there are days that a model comes in and you can see they are glowing, other days they might be moody you can see that in their face, posture, the way they hold their hands (even when they hold the same pose). As an artist you choose which moments to put into your drawings, you compile the moments till you capture their essence. This is why I do what I do and I call myself a figurative artist.

Biography

I have two passions which are Mathematics and Art and I let them intertwine in my work. I have worked in two fields, a data engineer and an artist. When I create my work my vision and my end result is the art and the process of making that happen is me building the project as an engineer.

Currently I run a business out of my studio in Columbus Ohio where I create commissioned portraits and artwork for upcoming gallery shows. Preparing for a solo exhibit in 2022 so stay tuned. :)

My portraits are created from start to finish, I build and stretch the canvas, once I am finished with the painting I also offer framing. I use the highest quality materials and my process is build around creating the highest quality portrait that will last for years.

I have been fortunate to have amazing apprenticeships and study directly under my favorite painters like Andrew Ameral. My works are in private collections in places such as Madrid Spain, Canada, Russia, and California.
